I have two friends doing sprint distance triathlons, and I just couldn't bear to miss out on the fun. So a while back I joined a Tri Club and have been training, training, training.

Having an impending race has definitely pushed me beyond my training comfort zone and gotten me out the door before 6:00 a.m. Who knew the spin class could be so fun if you aren't really awake to savor the pain of sprinting up an imaginary hill on a bike that is taking you nowhere. I want to know about you all. What are you training for and how are you doing it?
If you are training for any kind of race from a marathon to a 5k, an endurance swim to a century ride, join my Race Day Training Group. We can share workouts and tips, as well as cheer each other to the finish line.

fit- which tri club did you join? while i am not into triathlons (yet?), my boy is- he is a member of TRIbe (local bay area club). he really has found that joining one has awesome benefits. just one of them being that their training coach is becky lavelle (one of the top female tri athletes in the country!). luckily for me, he is able to pass along tips for cycling and running.
1anyway, i'll be joining the group. i've got the disney half marathon coming up!
I am training for the Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back in Utah. It is a relay race with 12 members on your team. You each run three legs for a consecutive about 160 miles. I have done it for three years but this year I am especially nervous because last year the heat was unbearable and I don't have the liberty of training during the day, just 5:00a.m. HOpefully I survive!
2I am training for AIDS/Lifecycle - the 545 mile bike ride from SF to LA. The ride starts on Sunday and I'm ready to go!
3CAcyclegirl- i did ALC last year... you will have an AMAZING time! good luck next week, sending lots of tailwind wishes your way.
4Swedeybebe - thanks so much! this is actually my 4th ride so we probably rode together last year and didn't even know it!
5ah, a vet! my boy is riding again this year, so i'll be at opening and closing ceremonies cheering you all on, also joining him in ventura for the vigil on the beach.
i hope to ride next year, so if you are ever at any south bay traning rides, let me know!
6I'm doing a sprint tri this weekend, and an olympic and half Ironman in late summer... I have a couple half marathons on my schedule, too. Cyclegirl, have a fantastic ride!! Emdance, I've always wanted to do one of those relays -- have a (several
) great run(s)! Swedy,
have a great time at Disney
7I just finished a 10k recently and am thinking of amping the endurance work for an event in the fall. I'm doing the solo thing right now but keeping an eye out for a training group since my hubby as a training partner will not be happening past 6 miles. I did a Team in Training triathlon a while back. It was cool but I most likely won't work that group again as an athlete fundraiser.
8I am training for a 70 mile ride (The LA River Ride) on June 8th, a 10K beginning of August, the Disney half-marathon end of August, and a Century ride in October.
So far, i'm a bit behind my training schedule. Blah.
