Race-day weather is always a big question mark. If you're training for a marathon, triathlon, bike race, or century ride, it pays to practice in all kinds of weather. As important as it is to work on your technique, your speed, and your stamina for these endurance races, you've go to be prepared for the worst conditions on the big day and train in all types of weather. Train in the rain, on bright sunny days, humid days, unseasonably cold temps, windy days, and heaven forbid – hail. Since you can't predict what the weather will be like on the day of the race, you need to practice biking, running, or swimming in all types of weather, you'll feel much more equipped and comfortable with whatever weather blows your way.

I love running in the rain. When I lived in Miami it was my saving grace on long runs.
1I like running in the rain, too...it's like natural air-conditioning. I don't like it when it's too cold though...then I just end up feeling clammy and gross.
2I've never liked being in the rain but it might be different now.
3Funny thing though, my brother was on cross country track in HS and he always ran his best when it rained during a meet.
It would be cool to train in the rain, but what about chaffing??
4Ha--I certainly set a personal speed record last summer when I got caught in a raging thunderstorm 1.5 miles from the nearest shelter while out running early one evening. There's nothing like tall trees and close lightning strikes to lend wings to one's feet
5No rain for me.
6I ran the Surf City 1/2 marathon in February in the pouring rain. It was a lot better than the 100 degree heat I ran in for the Disneyland 1/2 marathon.
7Warm rain is fine, but today? It was cold, rainy and windy. I stayed home. I'm going to run tomorrow.
