Chili's is one of those chain restaurants that I'm sure we've all been to at least once.
This bar and grill has just about everything from wings to soup, from fajitas to steak. With such a diverse menu, it's nice to see there are some healthier options to choose from like salmon, grilled chicken, and salads. I'll have to warn you, though, that a good portion of their food contains a high amount of calories, fat, and sodium. That's not to say you should never set foot into a Chili's — you just don't want to make a daily habit of it. It's nice to be able to enjoy this kind of food every once in a while, but I'd definitely bring some friends, or place half your meal in a doggie bag so you don't end up consuming thousands of calories in one sitting.

Do these stats include everything you get with the menu item? The calorie count in the fajitas looks low, since you get like 3 tortillas.
1I am glad to see the Chicken Fajita Pita isn't so bad - that is the only thing on their menu I really like.
2God I just hate it when my office decides to go to Chili's on our Friday lunch...I had a bowl of chili last time, and I guess it doesn't seem so bad calorie wise but it has so much salt in it...Yuck!
3Wow. Everything is a lot worse than I even imagined. I guess my husband and I will be staying away from here from now on.
4Glad to know the fajitas aren't bad. That's often my "healthy" option.
5Gabiushka - I'm in the same boat the people from work always pick Chili's. I just get the chicken enchilada soup and salad and it's less than 500 calories (plus or minus depending on the dressing).
6Katyharper — Good question. The Chili's website says that the serving size for the chicken fajitas is one skillet. I assume that 330 calories doesn't include the tortillas, just the cooked chicken and veggies you fill them with.
7Fit - that would make sense. I bet it's that way with all the guiltless grill stuff too. The sides aren't included in that total calorie count. Poo.
8It looks like I'll be eating the enchilada soup from now on. There does seem to be a lot of sodium. What is the RDA of sodium?
9I love how "guiltless" translates to "you're lucky it's under 1000 calories".
10I always order sides when I go. And it's SOOO good! Some steamed seasonal veggies, mashed potatoes (not as healthy) and maybe some corn on the cob. I feel happy that at least they are veggies, if not soaked in gallons of butter.
11I am always completely shocked at how many calories are in some of the foods that I used to eat before I decided to become healthy! I mean, 1300 calories in one meal? Crazy!
12This values are so scary to see! You can get your entire caloric intake for the day and then some in just one meal. I would rather save my calories for something a little more gourmet. It's a good thing to inform people but it also depresses me when I do eat out at places like this = \
13Great I cant wait till the chain restaurants have to put this info on the menu it will make it ALOT easier to eat out since I use Weight Watchers
14Using a Hungry Girl suggestion, I often order the guiltless grill black bean burger WITHOUT the bun! I have never really liked buns anyway. Then I just eat the burger with a fork. I usually get that, or the salmon, because I LOOOOVE salmon. Oh, and I sometimes indulge in the margarita! I must admit!
15the guiltless food makes me feel very guilty. 650 freaking cals for a black bean burger??? yeesh. i can't wait until the resturants have to put the calorie intake on their menus. it'd make resisting food so much easier.
16I'm glad it looks like they have at least gotten the Awesome Blossom off the menu. I worked at a Chili's while in college and management told us it came in at nearly 3,000 calories and over 200 grams of fat - no joke! People would regularly come in and eat the whole thing without sharing too. Disgusting!
17Yuck, I can't stand so called healthy meals are still quite damaging to a normal diet. I'm by no means dieting, but I would never order anything from these chain restaurants. I'm too much of a foodie/gourmet I have to say :]
18Chili's is also one of the few restaurants that has a gluten free menu. It's great for cousins of mine that have celiac disease. They're able to eat out with everyone else but not get sick.
19I worked at chili's for two years, so nothing here is a surprise. I was also on weight watchers while I worked there, so I learned how to modify almost everything to make it manageable. I'm not sure of the actual calories, but I do know that the bun they use on burgers is ten points (almost have of a daily allowance on weight watchers) it's really easy to get things without the bun, mayo, etc. but I also learned that, as FitSugar said, there's no reason to cut it out completely. Despite the insane calories and fat, sometimes a girl just needs a burger and a margarita!
20Chili's cares about health in that they have their Create A Pepper program to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
21I don't understand why people eat at chain restaurants. The food is mediocre at best and nothing is freah, that's why everything is packed with sodium. I'd rather just eat at home.
22CHain restaurants are NASTY. I would rather eat a frozen pizza for 3 dollars then this sh*t, and THAT says something.
23Wow! They DID remove the awesom blossom!
24I used to go there in college with my BF ... A LOT! I think it must have put about 15 lbs on me at one point.
Thank goodness I stopped going and rarely eat out at all anymore. It is so much more healty and pleasing to cook your own food. AND you know what is in it.
Definitely high and gross. But remember, a lot of times you don't consume the entire meal. Servings are big so eating half or a third can make a big difference if it isn't a terribly fatty meal. Plus dressings and sauces make a huge difference. Little dressing, or no ranch on a sandwich can definitely decrease the calorie and fat count. I love chillis so i go in moderation and try to cut calories and fat where i can.
25it's so funny when you hear that menus are going lighter and all that but when you take a look at what's in them...you see that it's so far from the case and that you're not eating healthy at all.
i love that you guys posted this since it's a really important piece of
choosing to eat out. know what you're eating!
26Oh My.
27I only eat there twice a year, but still. I always order the plainest thing on the menu and hold the sauce, cheese, ect.
