Exercising outdoors might be great for your psyche, but it's not so good for your skin. Even if you're only out for a 30-minute bike ride, you need to wear sunscreen. Your daily moisturizer with SPF just isn't going to cut it though, since the heat of the sun and all your hard work will make you sweat. The lotion may end up running into your eyes, plus all that sweating will also make your sunscreen less effective. So pick up some sweat-proof sunscreen.

Whichever sunscreen you choose, make sure it says that it's sweat proof or sweat-resistant on the label. If you worry about breaking out, look for one that also says "non-comedogenic." Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before you head out, and if you're planning on being out for longer than two hours, bring some sunscreen along so you can reapply as needed.

Sunscreen is key!
1I do Kiss My Face face factor for my face and Banana Boat or Bull Frog for my body. I can't stand most sun blocks on my face.
And I agree with aimeeb... sunblock is key!
2Thanks for the post!
3i like sunscreen, however i dont know about sweatproof. that seems like it would clog ur pores. kinda like anti persperant on ur face?
4Does anyone have any suggestions for a good facial sunscreen? I tried one from Fresh but felt really greasy. I break out so I need non-comedogenic. Also, I need one for my body, it would be great if there was a body lotion that had spf in it. Is there one I don't know about?
5Thanks!
tiffanyshophia, try neutrogena's new age shield face (spf in a variety of strengths.) I've been using spf 70 (just because it was the only one left) and other than a little whitening it has not made me break out. I have pretty sensitive skin so that's impressive. I use Alba's very emolient body lotion, daily shade spf 16 on my body everyday and coppertone sport spray sunblock when I'm going to be out in the sun a long time. Just some suggestions!
6I try to wear sunscreen everyday. Lately it's been too hot to do much outdoors so I haven't been out, but I still wear it. My moisturizer has SPF 28 in it, so that helps too.
7I like NO-AD, its tried and true for me...and I live on and in the water in the summer!
8If you had sunscreen from last year and you are wondering whether it is still good, you can figure it out from the code on the bottle. For example,
Banana Boat - First two numbers are the year, last three numbers are the month (e.g 032 = Feb 1)
Sunscreens are typically good for 3 years.
You can see more examples at this post.
