The elliptical is a great way to get in a quick cardio workout that is easy on your joints. This little routine stresses resistance rather than incline so if you're using an elliptical that enables you to adjust the incline/ramp, just keep it at a moderate level during the entire workout.

Fit's Tip: If it seems too easy or too hard, pay attention to your RPE and adjust the resistance from there.

what does RPE stand for??? The elliptical is great machine to get your heart rate up. I usually do 35 minutes on the treadmill and another 25 in the elliptical.

2RPE is Rate of Perceived Exertion. Perceived exertion is how hard you feel like your body is working. You can read about it at the CDC website (Center for Disease Control) cdc (.) gov then look up physical activity for everyone - or you can probably just search google on RPE.
3I think Fit also has some info on it if you do a search. I have a baby elliptical at home. I do intervals on it all the time. I find I get the best results that way.

here is the link to What's the Deal with Rate of Perceived Exertion (aka RPE).
The orange text in the chart (and all over the site) of "RPE" are hyperlinked, so click on the orange text for more information on the subject.
Sure do hope this helps!
5The elliptical is my favorite piece of exercise equipment...love it. I need to get myself one for my home, been meaning to for awhile now.
6Just did a variation of this for 25 minutes today and I liked it!
7I love the elliptical. It's the best and it really seems to work me out the best. I need one for my house.
