Check out the Hula Chair. Basically, you plant your feet flat in front of you, press the button, and start moving your hips and core in a circular motion.
The makers say it will improve your balance and coordination as it gently aligns your spine and improves blood circulation. You'll love how it feels as it works out your abs and mid-section. They say it is a great way to warm up for any activity.
Hmm, you could spend $199.95 on this ("operators are standing by 24 hours a day"), or buy 3 regular hula hoops from Wham-o for just $14.95. Then you can hula hoop with some friends, and for only $5 each.

Confession: I am a HORRIBLE hula-hooper. ***Sobs****
It's haunted me my whole life really. It's not that I can't work the hips...I just CAN'T KEEP THE DAMN THING UP!!
1Some one will actually buy this for $199 plus S&H?
2Bring on the hula hoops! I won a hula-hooping contest when I was little, and I still love it.
3I was watching on tv how some stars are really into doing a hula hoop workout right now. They use a standard hula hoop though. It's cool because I thought the action was in the hips. As it turns out, if you shift your weight somewhat agressively from foot to foot while gently moving your hips, you can keep it up and it works the way it's supposed to. I tried this randomly at Walmart last night and it's the first time in my entire life that I've been able to keep one going! So cool. Try it.
4As for the chair...that thing looks like she's riding an imaginary mechanical bull. Looks to me like you'd pay $200 for the machine to jostle the holy crap out of you and not really work anything out. It would probably be fun for those ladies who enjoy sitting on washing machines though. hehe.
5i used to be able to hula hoop, but i lost it with age.
this looks.. interesting. i think i know plenty of other things i would prefer to spend that much money on.
6Soooo, I danced hula most of my life. I'm pretty darn good, actually. But I can't hula hoop AT ALL. How ironic is that!?
P.S. This chair looks way dumb. $5 hula hoops > $200 chair for sure!
7That is one of the freakiest looking things I have seen in a while...

9Better yet, go to hooping.org and find instructions on how to make a hoop for grown-ups that's much easier to use than those lightweight kiddie hoops. And WAY more fun than sitting in a chair!!!
10well i must say that i suck at hula hooping but i would much rather work on my skills then pay $200!
