Wow that's a lot!
1I usually order a whole wheat bagel and then just eat half - still a lot of calories i guess but better then eating the whole thing and it's quick and easy.
On the rare occasion that someone bring in Panera bagels, I always TAKE half, or I eat half and throw the other away.
2That is a lot! I like bagels, but stay away by never buying any for myself to store at home. My bread has nuts and stuff, so is more calorific anyway. My breakfast (bowl of cereal and skim milk) is probably about 200-300 calories.
3That is interesting because a lot of bread that I find has around 100-120 calories per slice...I'm curious what 100% whole wheat bread, with enough fiber (I'm thinking 3 grams a slice) has less.
4If anyone can think of one please let me know, thanks!
Regardless that is still a lot, and that is why I don't eat bagels.
5ouch!! I try not to eat either bagels or even white bread. If I really crave bread, I'll eat wholemeal but lately I've been eating a lot of raisin toast. It's just so good HOT!
6WOW! I was totally suprised by this. I knew bagels were dense but i guessed only 3 slices of bread. Anyone know of any good low fat bagel brands??
7Ahhh...I loovee bagels! I have a Lenders bagel about 6 days a week. haha. oh man. disgusting.
8I still love my bagels. I'm a total foodie and need all the calories I can get
9I would used to eat bagels with cream cheese for breakfast all the time when I used to work at an art gallery. when I found out what the nutritional value of one of these puppies was, they became a once in a while treat. I have a new breakfast love called Fiber One cereal
10Running Bunny - Sara Lee Delightful Multi-Grain (so, not sure if it's whole) has only 45 calories a slice, but it also only has 2g fiber.
11Thanks Butrfly! I live in Canada though and we don't get a lot of the lower calorie stuff that is in the US, that is why I was showing some confusion. I know there is Weight Watchers bread here, but I have had it and it just doesn't fill me up like a piece of other fiber filled breads do.
12Thank you though!
I agree with you Running Bunny. Weight Watchers bread seems a little, I don't know, thinner and lighter to me.
13Woah thats alot. I love bagels especially cinnamon raisin ones which probably have more calories. I've recently switched to a mini bagel and fruit for nreakfast, still gotta have my bagel fix.
