You're asking and I'm answering . . .
"Dear Fit,
I have been working out every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday for over a month now. I take a strenuous yoga class on Mondays, run or swim on Wednesdays, and I lift weights on Saturday mornings. The day after my workouts, my muscles are really sore. I thought this would go away after the first week. Will I ever stop feeling sore?"

It's great that you are including cardio, strength training, and flexibility training in your workouts, but since you're doing them all on different days, you're working different muscle groups each time you work out. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but it's the cause of your soreness.
If being sore bothers you, you may want to think about changing how you work out. Instead of doing each type of workout on different days, one option is to try incorporating all three — cardio, flexibility training, and strength training — on each day that you workout. Do 30 minutes of cardio (running, biking, walking, etc.), then do 20 minutes of stretching, and then another 20 minutes of strength training. That way you're using all your muscle groups on each day, which will make them stronger so they'll be less likely to be sore the next day. Another option is to work out more often, instead of skipping days, try to do a little exercise five to seven days a week. If none of this helps, you may be pushing yourself too hard in your workouts, so toning it down a little can help prevent soreness as well.

I have been working out for over a year and a half now about 2-5 days a week (for the past 2 months it's ben 4 times a week all the time) and mine are always sore the day after. Some days are betetr, some hurt so much!
1"strenuous yoga class" i thought it was supposed to be relaxing!
2Just because yoga is relaxing doesn't mean it isn't Hard sometimes!
3Personally I'm usually sore the day after my strength training. Since 3 days a week you're working yourself pretty hard, I think Fit is right, you just might be getting enough recovery time.
and Streeeeetch! That always makes me feel better. Maybe try doing some light yoga moves every morning to help stretch out those sore muscles.
I'm always sore too but figure it's part of being 45. I've been tempted to try all these new "joint juices" I keep hearing about but was worried they have lots of carbs or calories. Fit, what do hear about joint juice?
4I used to be sore after working out, but I've found that after you work out fairly consistently for about 2-3 months, the soreness goes away faster and you don't actually get as sore as you do when you first start out.
5i did a power yoga class last saturday (it was the first time i had done yoga in a while) and my hamstrings and my back were SO sore, especially on sunday. the back subsided by monday, but i can still feel it in my hamstrings a little, even though i've done cardo and weights since then!
6also make sure you hydrate and eat a good meal after each workout
7i am very confused, i thought u said we need to finish out work out in order to stretch or at least strech leg after we've done all exercise on them... and os on. but now u say do stretching then lifting. so what is the correct order? i do cardio first 25-30min, lifting 25min, and stretching 5 at the end.
8Well, I can tell you if you're first starting weight training that you will be sore for about a week or tow, its only because you are using muscles you haven't really used much before. I wasn't sore for 2 years straight lifting weights, other than the first 2 weeks. If you do it every other day your body will get used to it quicker. I think pain is good when it comes to working out, because it just means you're getting a good workout.

10I'm usually only sore the next day and then I'm back to normal by the time my next workout comes around. Doing light cardio helps on the off days when I'm sore because it gets the blood pumping to your muscles. I'm not sure if this is scientific or not but it works for me.
11My arms have been super sore. I also have been having this awful crunching noise in my elbows when I use free weights over my head for my triceps.
