When I go to the gym, I tend to focus on one cardio machine a day. Whether I'm using the elliptical, the stepper, the stationary bike, or the treadmill, I usually get on it and stay on it. Occasionally, I play around with different machines using Gunnar Peterson's 4-5-6-6-5-4: Cardio Plan. It definitely breaks up the routine.
So, what about you?

1I was just thinking about mixing things up for the half-hour (or more) of cardio. I think my gym's too busy for the 4-5-6-6-5-4 plan though!
2My gym is definitely too busy for the 4-5-6-6-5-4 plan, but I do like to do my cardio in 3, 20 minute chunks - 20 on the stairmaster, 20 on the elliptical, and 20 on the treadmill. it feels really great and i don't get bored
3I use two machines, treadmill and elliptical. Mixing it up is best. I get bored.
Some days I only use one machine, others two. I workout at home in my home gym.
4I use treadmill and elliptical too.
5On the treadmill I switch it up between jogging and steep uphill powerwalks too.
i usually do 45 min on the elliptical and 15 min either running or biking
6In order, I use: elliptical, treadmill, bike, and stair climber.
Pretty much go with my order of preference when available, but there are times when it is busy & I jump on something else for a bit.
7I don't go to a gym. But that wasn't an option...
8I don't use any machines, just a couple of dumbbells.
I use 3 machines (elliptical, tread, stair) for 10 -15 minutes each but I usually change the order up using them so that my body doesn't get used to a routine.
9Like others, I use the elliptical first followed by the treadmill. Keeps me from getting really bored.
10I mix up elliptical and bike but mostly because I have hip problems and have to switch as soon as it hurts.
11I usually split up my cardio time between two machines...usually the treadmill and the elliptical(20 mins ea). Last night i actually just stayed on the elliptical because i really felt like i was getting a great workout on it.
Plus...changing my routine up a
bit is better for me anyway.
12I use the treadmill for 30 minutes (intervals), then on my non weight days I use another cardio machine for 15 minutes then do yoga.
13i usually just use one cardio machine for an hour each time i go to the gym... i always switch up which one i use, but if i have been naughty recently dietwise, then i'll jump on the treadmill and run and extra mile or two after i finish with the first cardio machine..just to make myself feel a litttle better lol
14I try to brake it up to keep it interesting so I don' get into a rut.
15I do 20 to 25 minutes on the arc trainer, 20 minutes on the stepper, and 20 to 30 minutes on the bike.
16I do a 20/20/20 plan. Arc-Trainer 20 mins, treadmill 20, elliptical 20. I'll switch out one for the stairmaster on certain days. Great workout!
17I do a 20/20/20 plan. Arc-Trainer 20 mins, treadmill 20, elliptical 20. I'll switch out one for the stairmaster on certain days. Great workout!
18I use the treadmill AND elliptical.
19Classes are the best!!!
20yes - i usually start on the elliptical and then move to the bike that way i'm working a lot of muscles but not to the point where i'm dying in pain, and i get a good workout.
21i usually just use the eliptical at the gym but i also run outside
22Yes! My gym is REALLY crowded so when I get there, I sign up for the elliptical and treadmill and while I wait my half hour, I get on the bike. My ideal workout consists of 30 minutes on the bike, treadmill, and elliptical
23Once I get on one piece of equipment I am glued to it until I am finished!
24I usually mix it up quite a bit...treadmill/running outside, elliptical, and jumping rope. Sometimes I'll do the exercise bike too, just to mix up the routine even more.
25what's an arc trainer? I go to my school gym and to my knowledge we only have bikes, elliptical, tread mills and the dreaded stairmaster
