OK, so you guys all got pretty excited about the Cole Haan Nike Air heels but everyone wanted a cheaper comfortable heel option. I came across the new Crocs Sassari ($39.99) wedge. I have not really been a fan of Crocs on anything other than a child. I don't know, there is something about a grown man wearing bright purple Crocs to match his bright purple polo that doesn't appeal to me.

The Sassari wedges do not look a thing like Crocs other than the fact that they are made from the Croslite signature material. You can order them directly from Crocs online but they are not available until March 1, 2007.
I know people are loving them, so what do you think -- Cool or not?

1Why don't you wear the face you have when I am not around?
the crocs as a suburban phenomenon is something I really don't understand it was only like 3 years ago that only they super-cool urban folks wore them and they were always caution orange, not every time I leave the city every man woman and child seem to have them! I think this might be a middle of the country kind of thing though because last time I went home to Maryland there was no one in them.
2There's a reason I joined a group on Facebook called "I Don't Care How Comfortable Crocs Are, You Look Like A Dumbass."
But I do agree with Fit...I understand why children wear them, but grown MEN? yikes
3
@ nannychica. I don't think these are acceptable for anyone, including kids. crocs are the
ugliest thing since...ug. I am brain dead. but they are ugly.

Mario Batali wears them... and for me thats reason enough not to... btu they did sponsor the AVP last year so that got alot of attention on them, but I know here in Jersey I see alot of them, I live in Newark and I see them everyday, and the store I work at sells alot... I see them alot in the city too.. i don't think they are just an urban thing but damn they are ugly
5My mother, grandmother, and brother were all sporting them at once, and I have to say I was little ashamed to be seen with them. The new ones are an improvement, but can't everyone just wear normal shoes?
6I live in Boulder, so they're everywhere. These aren't completely wretched but I'm not a fan of wedges as a rule (also, yeeeah, the two-tone). They're headed in the right direction though, if they add slides, maybe, or flip flops. In reasonable colors. Maybe.
7Nannychica, I'm in the same exact group. Haha.
But I'm not completely opposed to these. Yet one side of me is saying, "You love Jellies, but imagine how they'd feel on your feet NOW."

You know something, I kinda like these. I hate Crocs, they're ugly as snot. But these kinda have an esthetic groove goin' on. If they make them in two tone black and white I'd buy 'em.
9Call the fashion police right now...You wear those, you go to jail!
10Dorkalicious.
11oh my but those are ugly!!!!! hahaha
i do have to admit though, i love crocs, they're very comfortable, but those are too ugly!
12Not sure I like these wedges, but they are drastically better than the clog-type crocs. I couldn't believe it when my new co-worker (from Ohio) wore them to work on Casual Friday. Ug. Ly.
They look like my garden clogs on acid.
13HATE crocs. More than I hate Birkenstocks. But I digress.....
On this shoe, I'm with cravinsugar. Ew
14Aww, come on guys! Wouldn't these look cute with jeans? You have to admit, they're miles more attractive than the "garden clogs on acid" (that was so funny, yamahamama).
15Gross. Crocs are like the Zubaz of this decade, everyone thinks they're so great despite what they look like.... I don't care how comfortable they're supposed to be, they're just ugly, even on children. People should leave the house looking like they're wearing bad pajamas (zubaz) or slippers (Crocs).
16Well, they ARE garden clogs and there's no telling what their vices are...
17Ok see, for gardening fine, but fer an afternoon of sight seeing or ging out at night? Um, no.

NO! Never for going out at night, but for wearing to the grocery store? For hanging out in the backyard with a couple of friends? Good friends? Over beers?
Don't shoot me because I'm leering at the celery and white pair, m'kay?
19These are ugly.
20i had a boyfriend who literally wore crocs all the time...even to a college formal.
needless to say, we aren't together anymore and i hate crocs.
21I know they're kind of hard to look at, but I love them. They're comfortable and they don't hurt my feet. I think they also help my back, knees and ankles. I walked for a week in Disney World (about 15 miles a day) and had zero problems and they were actually more comfortable than sneakers or anything else I've tried before. They have ballet flats and flip flops that are kinda cute. At any rate, I'll probably get these too.
22I won 4 pairs on eBay. Why? The reason is that I didn't know the style existed until a couple weeks ago. They don't sell them at my very local Nordstrom. They weren't available in my size from Nordstrom.com, in any of the shades I won, which were: 1. Chocolate/Gold, 2. Solid Black, 3. White/fuchsia, and 4. White/Black. If they don't work (too funky, or etc), I will re-sell them on eBay. Especially since with Summer still on for a while.
