Many of us pick fast food places like Chipotle because we think that it is the healthy alternative to other restaurants on the go. It can be, but you have to choose wisely so before you head out to Chipotle, I've broken the menu down from the nutrition chart below.

So say you get a burrito with chicken, rice, black beans, cheese, sour cream and guacamole; you're looking at about 1,319 calories. [gasp]
Do yourself a favor and get a bowl (no wrap), with chicken and fajita veggies, tomato salsa and lettuce -- Skip the rice, cheese, sour cream and guacamole and it will only be 349 calories.

i used to work at chipotle for a summer job once, they put a stick of butter in the rice. mmmmmmmmm
1I always thought those pita wraps were healthy for you considering the white bread alternatives out there.
I would go to Chipotle out of thinking I could get healthy fast food, but this article has made me look differently at the menu. Thanks Fit!
2WOW!!! I love their burritos, but I gues they will be few and far between..... so, fajita bowls from now on.
3Their bowls are techniqually like servings so you can cut it in half again
I always get rice, some meat (usually chicken or whatever looks the freshest), pico de gallo, green tomatillo salsa and cheese.
I love their corn salsa. It is sooooo good but I cant eat it anymore because my body decided it doesnt like corn anymore
4I meant TWO servings
5I think I'll just skip Chipotle all together...it's been so long since I had it, I don't think I'd miss it anyway.
6i love chipolte but only go there every 2 weeks or so. i get veg burrito with rice beans tomato salsa and sour cream....not as bad but still not good! so delicious.
7Chipotle's gross.
8I only eat the bowls with out the rice and lettuce. I have never had a buritto from there as strange as it may sound. I figured since Baja's burritos are 5 meals Chipotle's would be about the same. Plus I have a hard time accepting that they are owned by McDonalds now. I haven't there since I found that out.
9i looooooove chipotle but i just don't go to fast food places unless i'm on a road trip or something. i don't need the extra calories and i sure don't need to spend the extra money.
10723 cal... i still like it
call me a fatass if you want. oh and they're not owned
by mc donalds any more.
11No wonder I always go into a food coma after a chipotle burrito.. no bueno. The bowls are good though
12I love love love chipotle, I've been eating there for years and years! I just opt for less rice, and I cut my burrito in half to save part for later. Chicken quesadillas are also good, still a lot of fat and decent amount of calories, luckily I'm a college athlete, so I can afford it!
13I know it is bad for me - but every once in awhile you just need to have one. The tortilla and rice are my favorite parts, so if I plan it right I can splurge about once a month or so.
14looks gross.
15Here in KC, they use free range chicken with no antibiotics, etc. which is what I really like. I normally do not do fast food at all because of the low quality meats that are used, etc. but because of all the "natural" stuff Chipolte uses, I can usually talk myself into it.... like yesterday... but I can see my burrito with rice, black beans, steak, guac, sour cream, cheese, tomato salsa, and more guac probably isn't the best way to go
16bummer.... I really really really like their guac and tomato salsa. Maybe I will just start getting rid of the rice.... I'd get rid of the burrito tortilla, but it's soooo good....
17me too rkdub...that's another reason i go there...responsible farming is important and from what i've read they use all free range etc!
18Luckily, I live where there's a Freebirds, a true, independent and original giant burrito shop (i.e., it's been around at least 15 years, far longer than Chipotle). And I know it's horrible for me, but that's why I only go every once in a while. You'd never thing that BBQ sauce would be good on a burrito, but theirs is like heaven.
I'd never trust a McDonalds burrito anyway. I'd rather go with something funky, not corporate, and almost completely Texan.
19... "think", not "thing"... danged typos...
20OOOh.....so THAT's why I gained 40 lbs in about 7 months when I got with my boyfriend....we ate that THREE to FOUR times a WEEK!!!
21I get two steak tacos! They're filling and they don't have much in it but lettuce and tomatoes. It costs $2 something!!!
22I know this is an old post but just to correct the person who said McDonalds owned Chipotle...this is no longer true. As of late 2006 McDonalds completely divested its stock in Chipotle so no need to ban this place because of that
