How about those abs? If you are bored with your ab routine, or if you neglect your middle, here's a workout for you to try.
This video is made for you to play while you do the exercise. Think of it as a quick little workout with a voice leading you along and a counter in the lower lefthand corner counting down your reps.
So don't just watch. Watch and do. Then be sure to work your abs at three days a week. Your belly will thank you for all the attention.
For a few tips, just read more
- You want to make sure you are working your deep abs the entire time. So focus on pulling your navel to your spine.
- To keep tension out of your neck when doing crunches, think of holding an orange between your chin and your chest. Don't juice the orange, but don't drop it either.
- When performing toe taps and heel taps, keep the torso and pelvis totally still. Use your abs to do this.
- Have fun with the Hip Ups, but remember to control the motion and really scoop out your low belly.
- When twisting to work your obliques, isolate the movement to just the rib cage. Don't move your low back.

I'll give it a try!
1sweet fit! I am doing TaeBo on weekedns and going to the gim 4 times a week. Monday- Thursday and Tae Boe Sat and Sun.
I was looking for a good abs workout and this may be great!
Thanks
2I am going to try it too. I guess 4 minutes everyday is not that much of a time sacrifice. I need to bet my abs back post baby #2 who is almost 2!!!!
3I love the hip ups!!!! I do those often as part of my pilates routine...but there they call it the jack knife but its the same motion
4Fit, this was great! I turned the sound up on the computer and did the entire routine. Those hyper hip ups were completed, but I am certain I did not look at all graceful, as did you.
5I just did this! So excited to see my results in a week. Bikini season here I come!!
6I love to do ab work right before savasana - I'm def gonna try this routine...
7Two days and counting to 14 days or two weeks. Four minutes do go quickly!
8Im going to give this a whirl. I was looking for a good ab workout to try on my mat.
9I think I will give this a try starting this weekend! How has it been working for all of you??
10Im in for sure! Waaaay cheaper than the gym membership i have been contemplating.
11legs next legs next!!
12This is ABsolutely perfect! (Sorry about the cheesy pun!) 4 1/2 minutes per day? I can swing that... it's death by ab crunches the first time... but by the 3rd day they get easier and it still feels like you're working the muscle. That's a key thing for anyone like me who doesn't believe an exercise is working unless you feel it. Definitely feel this one!
13I absolutely love your short video clips! This ab workout is short and sweet and seems doable (versus confusing and overwhelming). I am going to give it a go. Thanks FitSugar! I hope to see more short videos on how to strengthen different body regions.
14great clip, but it's not the best idea to be doing to same set of movements everyday. Working muscles actually makes them shrink, which is why you should take a day in between workouts to let them heal. The muscles recover and grow back bigger and stronger...but if you continue to work the same ones everyday, they get smaller. Split the workout in half and alternate muscle groups with days.Thats all I would add to Fitsugar
15I've been doing this for two weeks now and I definitely see a difference!!
16phew, on my 3rd day of this and man... it's still hard. xD I really start losing it when it gets to the oblique part.
Gonna keep going though. Thanks for this!
17Thanks for that. I just did the exercises and they're really smooth indeed.
18And I can do them alone, without my boyfriend holding my feet! That's cool!
Hey bye, I'm off to shower!
I have been doing this for over 20 days now and have done it EVERY day (on top of my usual cardio workouts, TRYING to eat realtively healthy etc...) and it IS making a difference. With bikini season fast approaching, this is something I am going to stick with.
19I'm one of the oddballs that LOVE doing ab crunches, I can do 800 easily while watching any of my fav. Ben Stiller comedies..they really aren't as hard as most people think!
20Hey Fit!
21I was wondering: your article on "Hilary Duff Hearts Pilates" says that engaging your deep abs is better than doing crunches since crunches make your belly bulge out and don't support your back, but the exercises in the 4 min. video feature crunches. I was wondering, is it better to do crunches or pilates? How can I get a stronger, firmer abs by summer? Thanks!
ive been doing this for 4 days it get easier but it is kinda hard but its worth it trust me i an seeing a little results already
22Is there a hand-out available?
23I'll try it.
24omg if Fitsugar started to make work out videos, i'll have to cancel my gym subscription and work out at home
25thanks for the vid. ill try it.
26i will give it a try.. but i know if it fails i can always go back to the good old ab roller.. man wow that hurts SOOO bad for like a good week after
27Wow, what a workout just in four mins!!! I could really feel the burn in my abs, well ill try it for a week, im leaving for the bahamas in 4 weeks? i need to be more slim!!
28ok so im about to try this ill do it for 2 weeks and see whts up i do run every day and work out every day im gonna stop doing my 300 crunches a day and just do the 4 mins on top of the running and weight trainning and see where this leads...
29Wow. I agree with everyone else. You can definately feel this one working from the first day. Seems easy enough to stick wtih, Im excited to do this.
30its been over 2 weeks and i barely see a difference, maybe its because of the fat on top of my muscles
31fitsugar, you are a saint.
I, in the past, have done crunches upon crunches in hopes to tone my abs. They toned my upper abs, and left a bulge at the bottom that was rather unnattractive.
This is finally working for me. I've started to see a little results after only about a week, and, best of all, I can really feel it while im doing the workout!
It's worth it, everyone, it really is.
32even after just a week, my stomach was much flatter. i had a bit of a potbelly before that i wanted to go away and it did!! i'm amazed, really. thank you so much for posting this!!!!
33man this work out is a kiler everytime i do it hurts and ive been doing it for atleast 2 weeks maybe 3..and im on my way to a freaking 6 pack and im a girl lol...wooohaaaaaaaaa but its not the bulging six pack its the sexie one oh yeahhhh
34wow this was better than i thought. my abs are burning ha ha. i think its because the lady does'nt give you a second to rest
35wow this was better than i thought. my abs are burning ha ha. i think its because the lady does'nt give you a second to rest
36i resigned up again yesterday, but ive been doing these for the last month now everyday (apart from sundays hehe) and it suprising how much of a difference it can make, and even after Iam done each time i feel more flexible and more energetic!
37thank you!:]

38I just tried this right now. Finally!!!Something that I can feeeel lol. I like I'll tell you how it works out next friday
39i just wanted to say i really love this vid and i'm adding this complete routine to my at home morning workout. i'm going to try it 4 times a week, thanks fitsugar for making it!
40K, so I've been doing this for just over 2 weeks and I can not see a difference. I've been doing it every day and I can feel the abs working as I do it. I feel like when I flex I'm stronger but without flexing, the change is unnoticable. It may be my fat covering up my abs tho. Could anyone please give me some advice on how to lose some of that fat. I'm fine with my weight but I really want to see my abs. Any tips would be nice. Thanks.
41Is it possible to get these movies in a downloadable podcast? that'd be super sweet to take to the gym and play on an iPod
42Hey if i'm right, then its better to do this only a few times a week. Doing it everyday won't work as your abs tone best if given 48 hours break between workouts
43great tips.i feel the difference already.
44I think I'll give it a try
45Where's the printable version for this one?
