Every now and again a question comes in from a user that I know you guys would benefit from all the great suggestions, so check out user thruthick&thin's recent problem to see if you can help her out:
"I know exactly what I should do, what to eat and how to exercise but I can't seem to get with the program...I have so many motivational reasons to lose weight it's unbelievable but I seem to just 'give up' really quickly. Anyone ever have this? I JUST WISH I could stick to it for more than a week at a time and I could get this weight down."
We've all been there, I know I have. For me, it just took time and persistence and eventually I started to feel like I always wanted to feel — my desire for more just snowballed from there. So what is your advice for someone who desperately wants to get fit but just can't seem to stick with it? Share your advice and personal experiences in the comments section below.

I wasn't setting realistic goals for myself and my lifestyle.
For me, I just did a little bit at a time. The first and easiest things to change were to eat whole wheat for any carbs I ate (or brown rice instead of white), and to use non-fat milk whenever I needed milk. Then I worked on portion size - I try to eat 5 small meals a day. And I just added onto this new healthy eating style gradually. Some things were just little changes... like, if I get sushi (which i LOVE), I'll scrape off a little of the rice from the edge of each piece. Not only does this slow down my eating (i tend to eat too fast), but you don't actually realize how much rice is in all of that sushi! I definitely don't need it, especially at some places which use way too much rice. But that's just one small example of something I do when I eat out.
I also started a food journal right away. I don't count calories, but I write down everything I eat during the day. It REALLY helps just to see what you're taking in... You become much more aware of what you're eating each day.
As for exercise, I joined a gym because for me (since I'm kinda broke) if I'm paying for it, you can bet your ass I'm going to go!!! And then once I was there I started off easy - just walking on the treadmill at a comfortable brisk pace. Then as the days went on I'd increase the incline throughout my workout. Then I eventually graduated to the elliptical... and started added weight machines and ab workouts. Just take it easy and build up! Eventually you'll love it and feel bummed out if you can't fit a work-out in!
Also, I subscribe to a few magazines (Self and Shape), which I take to read at the gym or in my free time, which can be inspiring and helpful. Not to mention I find some great recipes in those!
And I just started to have SO much fun being healthy. I get really excited to try new recipes, and I'm constantly searching for new ways to be healthy. It's kind of like a game I guess, haha.
And then I just built onto all of that... and I just got more and more into it.... and now it's just really easy. And enjoyable! Oh, and something I noticed since I started eating healthier.... things just TASTE better. I heard once that your taste buds work better when you have a better diet. It sure seems true for me!! Healthy foods taste amazing =)
Well... i hope this helped a little. Sorry if it got a bit long... Good luck!!!
