I get the question, "What is the best cardio?" a lot. So I wanted to address it publicly. The best cardio, in my opinion, is anything that you will actually do. Sure there are arguments on whether the elliptical is better than the Treadmill, or the Stepmill is better than the stationary bike, but the reality is that you will reap the most benefits from any cardio that you do as long as you actually do it. So get out there and figure out which is the best for you.
For me, it's running outside — it happens to be my favorite way to work out and I know that doing something I like actually increases the likelihood I'll do it. So what is the best form of cardio for you?

Triumph
Conran
Hush Puppies
I love the ellipitcal and power walking on a steep incline! Feel the burn!
1Arc trainer all the way!
2spinning!
3I try to change it up. I tend to do the treadmill with a steep incline the most then the elliptical glider then the stair step. Occasionally, I will do the rower or the stationary bike.
4I dont like going to gym for cardio so I bought a Reebok step from Target for $30 and I step up & down as I watch tv. It certainly gets your heartrate up! I try to set challenmges of I'll take a break when commercial comes on.
I also like to go hiking when the weather is nice & catch up with friends at the same time.
5Arc-Trainer... Indoors
Spin...Class
Hiking... Outdoor
6I run outside. It's cheaper, it's more interesting and it reconnects me with nature. Occasionally, spinning classes are fun though.
7elliptical! i have my own machine which is esp great in the winter!
8Spinning and elliptical!
9Running is fun sometimes, but it can get old fast. I like upbeat cardio DVDs. I feel ridiculous doing them, but it definitely makes the time go by.
10I love to start off on the treadmill doing intervals and lots of incline work for about 20 minutes...then i move to the elliptical and get another 15-20 minutes in on that. I was doing the recumbant bike...but since i read that it really isnt as effective as the other cardios...i have switched to the elliptical. I actually love the elliptical more now!
Cardio is key though...everyone needs it!
11DANCING! the rest is just training for more dancing.
12Gym - treadmill
Outside- hiking
My apt - tae-bo
Class- cardio sculpt
13i loove the elliptical. i just cannot do running, have always hated it, so the treadmill is out for me. and i've been wanting to try spinning! aside from the gym, i'm a ballet dancer, if that counts as cardio...
14At the gym, the elliptical. Outdoors, it's biking. I wish I could run, but my knees are shot.
15Running and cycling. I hate the elliptical, I feel like it does nothing for my body.
16Elliptical all the way!
17I agree completely! If you like it, you are more likely to WANT to do it simply because it is. Like going to the beach. You like it so you go back. I prefer running, cycling, yoga, pilates, swimming, anything just to be active- so I do something everyday.
18Elliptical! (Hooray for...reading a magazine while working out.) When I am feeling super-motivated, I do both the elliptical and the bike.
I am trying to do more jogging outside, though. When it's beautiful out, it's certainly a fantastic experience!
PS: Arc trainer? What's that!
19Running outdoors
Just a shame that for six months of the year it's
nigh on impossible due to dark nights/mornings and horrendous weather.
Never mind.. spring is here and the running shoes are out!
20Running outside in the nature! It's much more fun than going to the gym, I get some fresh air and the nature keeps me distracted, so I don't think about how hard I'm working. But when the weather isn't so good - elliptical at home, in front of the TV with my favourite series or movies.
21I actually do shuttle runs in my garage (it's pretty big)
22Elliptical and treadmill at the gym as well as group exercise toning classes. Outdoors--walking, walking, walking.
23my faves are arc trainer and recumbent bike (for indoors) and yoga/pilates/kickboxing (for classes).
outdoors i can't really run that well b/c of my knees, so i would have to say walking my dog (who is 60 pounds of all muscle), which is a combination of jogging (as much as my knees allow) and power walking.
24i'm glad to hear that it doesn't matter which you do. i'm a die hard elliptical person and i've been adding in the bike a LOT lately in my workout.
25I would definitely say any cardio you actually DO is better than something you won't do. I prefer the elliptical or running, jumping rope, and cardio kickboxing for a class. I also love biking. Mostly, I like to mix things up so I don't get bored.
