OK, so let's face it: Your dog needs to lose a few pounds and it won't hurt you to burn some extra calories too.
With obesity on the rise in people and in dogs, one fun way for the both of you to burn calories is to take an hour to play with your dog. In 60 minutes of play time, you can burn about 173 calories*. Imagine all the calories your dog will burn happily running back and forth!
Invest in some Planet Dog Tennis Balls ($15.96 for 3), which are made from a tough rubber material, and you'll never have to throw away a nasty chewed up yellow ball again. Buy them on drugstore.com.

Woot Woot!!! we are gonna get a dog next year I am so excited!
1Cute but Jade looks to chew on balls, I wonder how tough these are?
2I like to borrow my friend's dog. I guess I never realized it was doing us both good.
3My dog just never brings the ball back - she's not much of a fetcher.
4My dog is addicted to tennis balls! She will fetch them for hours and has done so ever since we brought her home as an 8 week old puppy! We actually had to make tennis balls "outside only" toys because she was throwing them at us to toss for her incessantly.
5LOL -- Jakie will just look at the ball and go the other way...LOL
6Anyone wondering how good these balls are? They are WONDERFUL and very very sturdy. We sell these at the doggie bakery and boutique I work at and I bought myself a set for my lab mix. He LOVES to chase them in the yard and on our doggie park day. I'd suggest anyone who has a dog that loves to play catch invest in a set to have alongside your other tennis balls!

7This is a great idea because my brother's dog totally ripped apart a tennis ball and then ate it. Let's just say tennis balls don't digest very well and we'll leave it at that.
8now they just need to make a tennis ball that somehow evaporates the slobber instantly, that part totally grosses me out.
