With soda sales down this year, reports say that folks are turning towards water and enhanced waters and teas before soda — yipee! Me, I am not and never will be a soda kind of girl. However, there are folks out there that still are drinking it despite the health risks, so what about you?

i don't really like soda - so that's a no on my part. i actually don't care for carbonated things too much so i stay away from them.
I used to be addicted to soda and drank a 2 LITER bottle a day. And, I'm into eating healthy!! So I knew it had to stop. Thankfully, I've found a replacement -- the Kombucha drinks by GT Dave fills the void. They have the bubbles that I so loved about soda! So, I've kicked the soda habit.
Next......GUM!
yes; mostly diet, but at Quizno's, I HATE pepsi and diet pepsi and drink full cal dr pepper
Never...
i've never liked soda--even as a kid i was a water girl. but i have waay too much coffee per day, so that's my caffeine addiction!
Green tea and water are about all I drink!
I never really developed a taste for soda. I only have it in mixed drinks sometimes.
When I was younger my parents drank 3-4 diet cokes a day! While my older sister never drank soda because she doesnt like fizzy drinks, I used to drink them all the time. In university I lived with a girlfriend of mine who could drink a 24 pack in a weekend. It was too much for me and I gave it up for water - my favorite drink in the world! Now I only drink diet coke sporadically, like when I eat sushi and I have sprite or club soda when I make a mixed drink. Over all I feel 100% healthier and better now that I reach for water to quench my thirst over diet coke. There is also less of a chance of water giving me hiccups.
Occasionally. I only diet soda. In a year, the number of times I drink soda, I can count on one hand, and maybe still have fingers left over.
I definitely have a soda issue -- I used to consume one or two diet pepsis a day. Now, I am trying to avoid them during the week, and only have one or two on the weekends. But on some days (like today) if I didn't get a good nights sleep or I have something totally stressful happen at work, I break down and have one at work. It's an every day struggle.
I only Drink soda once in a while! It's really not that good any way for you! So i just drink Lots of water! ( cuz i notice it burns when the soda goes down!) do u really want something burning going down ur throat? Heck Na!
I use to drink soda everyday but after all the damage it caused my teeth I gave it up. I only drink it every once in awhile now.
BTW diet soda is HORRIBLE for you. It still will cause tooth damage. My aunt use to drink diet Dr. Pepper everyday. When she started having all these random health problems like with her eyes my mom suggested that she stop drinking diet soda. She gave it up and her problems went away. That fake sugar they put in it will mess you up
I only drink water mainly....i gave up on soda a long time ago. It eats away at the enamel on your teeth(amongst other things)...not to mention its high calorie and the diet stuff tastes horrendous!! I'm sorry....i have yet to taste a good diet soda. We are all just better off not drinking it.
Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi are horrible and I hardly ever drink them.
About once a week I will drink a Saranac Diet Root Bear or Dr. Brown's Diet Black Cherry soda. Good for a treat with popcorn every now and then and really yummy too. Even my husband will take a drink and not even realize it is diet.
I also have read studies about how the diet sodas actually make you hungrier...and they are WORSE for you than actually drinking the regular stuff. So...when you think you are doing good for your diet by drinking it....think again.
No way. I really don't think the diet kinds should be allowed to print that word on the cans. It is very misleading.
no, I hate soda. Just tea and water.
I drink diet coke and sprite zero...as well as Orangina. But I also love my water and tea.
i try to limit my soda intake (maybe 1 per week or less), but sometimes tea and coffee just aren't enough at work. however, when i do drink soda, i drink regular. can't stand the diet stuff. i figure well, if i'm drinking it, i might as well drink the good stuff.
i'll have diet sprite or diet coke once in awhile with vodka
Plain water and tea. Imported soda is made with real sugar which makes it taste waay better than U.S. soda with corn syrup so thats an occasional treat.
I used to drink way too much soda. Shortly after my first son was born I cut way back. Now, I drink maybe one a week, on average. When we go on a road trip I usually drink more than that, but that's only every few months, so not often enough to worry about. (Although I do usually come back from a road trip with a few extra pounds, but they come back off within a few days.)
I love pop - I could drink it all day! I've been trying to cut waaay back though, so I've been drinking some of the carbonated/flavored waters that are out there. I know that's not perfect, but I'm down to a pop or two a week. Once I start feeling the hydrating effects of water, I start wanting it more.
i have never been into soda that much. my mom always game us juice or water to drink.
I love diet soda. Especially Diet Mt. Dew!
i've been back on forth on pop. i used to drink a ton, but then i was getting horrible heart burn and i ended up giving up pop for lent and the heart burn went away, so i just stopped drinking it all together for like a year. then i started drinking clear pop, thinking it was the dye making me sick. i just gave pop up for lent again this year and i don't so much miss the pop as i miss have an option besides water (as much as i love water it can get boring). i'm doing weight watchers so there aren't that many drinks i can have that aren't any points. i do miss ginger ale though, i'll probably start drinking that again occasionally.
I still drink soda but i am trying to cut it out of my daily life! I don't drink as much as i used to but i still drink it! It's just that if i try to take it out completely than the next time i drink it i over load on it!
Never.
never been a big pop person. i only drink it as mix with my booze. even then, i try to mix it with juice more.
I hate coffee and as a student, I don't have an office, where I could prepare and drink my favorite source of caffeine - the pu-erh tea, so every now and then (maybe once in two weeks on average) I resort to cola light. And I know that the "light" part doesn't make it healthier than normal cola, but I just like the taste better.
I love diet soda as much as I love water which is tons !
I said no, never, but really it's hardly ever, maybe once a month? I might have one drink mixed with sprite... I usually mix with cranberry juice... that is a healthier alternative.... right??
On very rare occasions I consumer Diet D.P. but 90% of the time I consume water and sometimes sweet leaf tea.
My new drink of choice is Celestial Seasonings Peach Delight Zingers to Go. I absolutely LOVE Dr Pepper, but don't hate what it does to me. On the rare occasion I have a Happy Meal from McDonald's, I will have a Dr Pepper. I quit diet drinks after reading that people who work in the labs where those sweeteners are developed use only honey and sugar.
I actually HATE what Dr Pepper does to me. I have a GERD attack when I drink too much of it.
I can't say "never" but it averages out to once a week tops. Generally I drink water, juices, green/herbal/decaf teas. I try to avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup, or sugar as a main ingredient. No diet drinks either cause I can't stand fake sweeteners. I do get occasional Coke, Dr. Pepper or root beer cravings that I indulge every now and then. I try not to keep soda in the house so as not to be tempted (or to make it hard to fulfill the craving).
I limit my soda drinking; it's just become a healthy habit on my part over the years. I prefer water ♥
never ever ever... don't want to do that to my body, and most importantly i don't crave them. i like O2. and it's cheaper!
Occasionally, I enjoy a plain old Coke and I'll drink Sprite if I have an upset stomach that I have a suspicion may turn into something worse. But diet soda? Forget it, that stuff bloats me into next week-like I need anything else that's gonna do THAT. Sheesh.
I only drink them every once in awhile or as a mixer in a drink like a Cuba Libre. I also don't buy pop to keep in the house.
Growing up, my sister and I weren't really allowed junk food, we never had it in the house and soda was a rare treat. So it's never been something that I love or crave.
But if I do have one, it's either Sprite or Dr. Pepper usually.
Oh, and I always have some ginger ale when I have an upset stomach. It helps.
Yea I love my diet soda. I usually drink one every day. I am trying to cut back but at least it's diet.
I only drink soda (diet soda) with mixed drinks (such as rum and coke, amaretto and coke, kahlua and coke). That's it, though.
I really don't get the "yes, but diet!" thing. That makes it sound like diet sodas are somehow better for you. I was under the impression that fake "diet" sugars are WAY worse for you. Worse than even HFCS... I don't know... I mean, I'm allergic to the fake stuff and I know of many others who are as well. I have a non-diet soda maybe once a week. I'm an everything in moderation kind of gal!
modernbombshell- Diet sodas are just as bad if not worst for you. They are linked to a lot of health problems right now. My aunt had health problems from drinking it- she even started to have vision problems. As soon as she cut them out she was better.
There was a recent study that came out that said that people who drink diet soda are more likely to become obese because they crave sugary foods.
Also the problem with drinking any soda is that a lot of people would rather drink soda than milk which is leading to a lot more people with osteoporosis
you guys crack me up.. yes, i am addicted to diet coke *gasp* , and no I am not obese, worn out, losing my teeth or my eyesight.i'm able to sleep at night and wake up without an alarm, my skin isn't broken out, my bp is great, etc, etc, etc.. for those who think it's worse than regular, good for you.. for those who think it's poison.. good for you.. as for me, i love my diet coke, and i balance it out with water.. i'm a runner, very health conscious and quite frankly don't give a flip about the unhealthiness of diet drinks because it's one vice and it's not going anywhere.
Never!
Occasionally. Usually I drink water, tea or lemonade. But on occasion I'll have soda - but only regular. The artificial sweeteners in diet soda freaks me out.
I have regular soda when my stomach hurts. The phosphorus really does help. Also, Dr Pepper helps with constipation. I try to avoid the diet kind and just have the real kind. Energy drinks are another thing. I do like me some artificially sweetened energy drink.
diorgirl, oddly enough, the burning when it goes down feels really good early in the morning or when you have a sore throat, lol.
I have always drank "pop," as we call it in Kentucky...I did switch to diet about 2 years ago, and let me tell you if you didn't already know - it doesn't help you lose weight or keep the weight off! However, I only drink it at home. I never order it at a restaurant because it's too expensive! I love it, and I would never give it up completely unless my health was compromised. I don't drink enough for it to matter - usually just one per day, or less. One time in college, I bought a 12-pack of pepsi before I left for the weekend on Friday, and when I came back on Sunday, my roommate had downed every last one...that's a problem! lol.
