During the Winter months, many people get away from the cold weather and hit the beach and sunshine. Taking a Winter vacation is beneficial for your mental state and a great way to relieve stress. It's a time when you can do what you want to do, whether it be something adventurous like surfing or just reading a book by the pool. Working out may or may not be part of the equation, so I was wondering . . .

Eeep, I must admit, I have the tendency to really let myself go while on vacation. I eat whatever I want, and I feel like I don't want to waste a minute of it working out when there's so much to do.
Heck ya. I try to schedule some adventure and endurance stuff during the vacay. The last one included a lot of surfing, kayaking, and a class IV river rafting trip. I also ran in the mornings.
Definitely have to work out, especially since I'm always eating so much more on vacations!
I love love to walk/run on the beach. Also it's always important to watch what you eat...I mean slurge on a nice dessert once in a while but if you let yourself go for days while on vacation you will find other excuses to that.
My most recent mini-vacation was down to Jacksonville to run a marathon. Allowed me to pig out the days before and enjoy the night life after!
No way, I think walking around is all that I need.
I work out on vacation, but not as much as I do when I am at home. eek.
yeah right! i laugh at all the suckers who exercise while on vacation while i'm sipping my pina coladas!
When I go on a vacation, it's always to hike, ski or kayak. I was never on a sit_around_on_the_beach_all_day vacation. So I in fact exercise more on my vacations then usually.
We live on the beach so all of our vacations are generally in the mountains.. hiking! We get lots of exercise on our "vacations". We are stepping out of our box this fall and going to San Francisco. But even then, we are driving over to Yosemite for a couple of days to... hike!
Since we always indulge in extra yummy food on vacation I always exercise too. It's a great time to try new exercises, and more of them. Just walking around some theme park ALL DAY is a big exercise but getting in the pool afterwards is even more exercise. It's a wonderful way to exercise. ^_^
I also get more sleep on vacation! Ha!
Hotel gyms sometimes, but not too much.
I try to squeeze in some! Anwyays I usualyl have MORE time. So an hour a day isn't that bad
I actually tend to exercise more on vacation because I have more time and I can usually find some new and fun activity to do.

I don't like Hit the gym, but I do extra other stuff. We're going to Hawaii in Aug and plan on hiking, snorkeling, going up diamond head etc etc. It won't be my regular routine, but it's soemthing!
I do exercise while on vacation, but it's mostly because I want to enjoy food and drinks and not gain too much weight.
I definitely keep moving but I don't keep my usual routine - can't take my instructors w/ me
I just make sure to stay active - walking, running, hiking, etc.
Body & health don't care that you are "on vacation."
i always try to do something. i go to the gym every day so not doing anything while i'm away is a bad thing. typically though it's more of the crunches, in room type exercise since i'm always afraid to try to go on a run when i don't know the area
I usually end up vacationing in cities where a car isn't necessary for travel so I just end up walking everywhere. I do eat pretty decadently on vacations, so I like to do what I can in addition to walking!
I usually bring my work out clothes on vacation so if there's a gym at the hotel I can work out there, or if i'm going to be by the beach, I can run on the beach. As for the dieting part - hey i'm on vacation so i'm going to eat whatever I want!
I definitely don't set foot in a gym, but part of a great vacation for me is lots and lots and lots of walking to take it all in.
I don't enjoy myself as much if I don't work out. I love exploring the city by running, but I'll use the hotel gym if necessary.
i haven't been on vacation in years, but i would!
I run a lot on vacation, just because running on the beach (or even on the side of the road running through the island) is one of my favorite things to do. I can relax and it gives me time to think and reevaluate my life. Wish I could go right now...
I am religious when it comes to work outs - I will NEVER MISS ONE EVER!
I don't really like pigging out anyways, but when I'm on vacation (at least lately), there are always ample times to get some exercise even though it's not in a gym. For instance, I'll go skiing in Lake Tahoe, hiking when I go to beach type places with trails around, or walk around cities instead of taking transportation everywhere. Next weekend, I'm going to Europe and you can bet that I will be walking around a lot. Also, since the dollar's value is so miserably low compared to the Euro, I think I won't be spending too too much on getting tons of food either!
