Not only does steaming have both a short cooking and preparation time, but you also get cooked veggies without using a drop of butter or oil. What's more? Unlike boiling veggies where the nutrients seep into the water that you eventually dump out, steaming them allows them to retain most of their nutrients since the food never actually touches the water. Add some spices and a splash of citrus and you've got yourself a tasty side. Me? I always steam broccoli and squeeze some fresh lemon juice over it.

I always want to steam mine but... I dont have a steamer... :/
I love to steam and its SO EASY now ur_momm that you don't need a steamer. Just use those Ziplock or Glad steam bags. I've used both brands and love love them!
I did last night! Carrots, brocolli, and califlower!
Better yet, just eat them raw! Even healthier and even shorter prep time.
Yum!!
Steamed broccoli and brussel sprouts ... my all time fav's.
Hmmm will definitely try those Glad steam bags!
I have to agree with Happ on this one. The new steam bags are FANTASTIC! I love love love them! They make eating fresh steamed veggies real again for me. There's no mess and no fuss!
I really must get those steam bags! I hear good news bout them from everyone! But anyway, YES! Steaming is great for me because I mostly eat veggies! Tonight: steamed broccoli! Mmmm!
