I had a quick 24 hour bug that started as I was leaving work and ended on my day off. Phew.

I cannot get the flu vaccine because I'm highly allergic to the suspension the vaccine is in. Also, the flu vaccine is good for the initial strain of the flu that scientist think will strike hardest. Once the virus has mutated more, even with the shot you can get the flu because it's no longer the original virus you were vaccinated for.

But I also steer clear of sick people and wash my hands before touching my face or eating.

I didn't get the flu this season, so far. I agree, be careful, wash your hands. I avoided a very nasty cold bug in my home by doing this.

No flu for me, but my fiance got it bad. His fever got almost to 104! SO glad this season is almost over.

I haven't gotten it. Yet. Hopefully I don't though. I'll end up in the hospital.

Apparently they didn't properly predict the strains of flu that were going to appear this year, so there's no way for the shots to be effective.

I got the flu and got so sick this year twice not quite sure if it was the flu I'm one of those who literally refuses to go to the doctors which is really stupid but both times it was absolutely horrible.

i never get the flu shot - and luckily i didn't get the flu this year either. i figure that if you get the shot and you get sick from it - you're getting the flu anyway, so what's the difference between that and just getting sick once.

Never had the flu shot, and I haven't had the flu (or anything else equally debilitating) in about 7-8 years. I am a walking miracle.

I got the flu shot about 3 years ago and haven't gotten the flu since so maybe its just me being healthy but i definitely havent gotten the flu since the shot so maybe it really does work hmmm

I had the flu for a week...then a few weeks later, I had a cold for a week. Sigh. Hopefully I won't be getting sick anymore. Knock on wood.

I got the flu shot, as I do every year- I have an issue that affects my immune function, and flu shots are highly recommended for people like me. I didn't get the flu even though my area got hit with a nasty strain, but I attribute that more to the fact that I work in a lab and am in the habit of scrubbing my hands before I eat or touch my face. And working out has really upped my immune function - so I think I had all the odds in my favor.

I never get the flu shot...I'd rather have the flu than suffer through my needle phobia. I've been lucky not to get the flu either. I've been so careful with washing my hands a lot and going to the gym.

First year I didnt get the flu shot, and the first year I didnt get the flu. Go figure...

I got the flu shot this last october...my work provides them for us free every year. Anyway...in December i got a nasty flu bug and it turned into pnemonia after moving into my lungs. I was sick for weeks!! It was the worst i have had in years! The antibiotics that they gave me knocked it right out...although i had a lingering cough for like 3 weeks afterwards. So glad to be healthy now!

My Husband and I never get the flu shot. We haven't gotten sick this year. Everyone I know who got the flu shot has had the flu.

It seems like everytime I get the flu shot, I still end up getting the flu. Next year I'm not getting it, maybe I won't get it!?

I haven't been sick in nine years. I very, very rarely get sick. I had a major weather-shocking move that year. I hadn't gotten sick prior to that in about four years. I just don't get sick. My friends say I have super-dna.

From what I've been generally told is that there was a strain of flu going around that WAS NOT vaccinated for.

I hardly ever get sick. I don't get the flu shot (although for people with compromised immune systems or high-risk situations I think they should still do it). I can't remember the last time I had a cold or flu or anything remotely close. Hmmmmmm. I wish there was wood for me to knock on! Stupid cubicle!

I'm on team compromised immune system, so I had to get the shot. Lots of my friends and my husband got the flu, but I didn't. They say that even though the vaccine was for the wrong strain, being vaccinated can still help prevent the worst symptoms. And you can't get sick from getting the shot- the viruses you get are dead.

I'm with MandyJo and bluesarah...I must have super DNA too. I haven't had the flu since winter of 2000. I also haven't had a flu shot in that long. I'm supposed to get one every year because of my asthma, but I think it's a giant pain and I'd rather save the vaccine for people that actually do need it.

I get sick every year, but never get the flu shot. This year, I prepared myself with 2 products - one is called Blockade and the other was this mushroom formula called Host Defense and they worked extremely well! I started to feel ill and flu-y a couple of times, but I rested and took these products and I was all better within a day or too. I'm going to keep buying these every year now.

i got super sick about a month ago. really bad flu and strep throat. i also managed to get some 24 hour stomach bug that kept me throwing up for 2 days! it was horrible!
