My husband and I work out with each other at least one day a week. Having a partner in crime really helps us both stay on track. My girlfriend, however, refuses to work out with her boyfriend. So I am curious about you guys . . .

Sometimes...I make him go for walks with me or go swimming...
I am even trying to make him come to the gym
I wish my BF would go to the gym with me, then I wouldn't feel guilty for leaving him home alone!!!! Which is my #1 reason for not going!
My husband and I really got into hiking a couple years ago. It is nice to hit the gym a couple times a week with my sister, but then drive to the mountains and hit the trail once a weekend with my husband. I love to multi-task, and I get a workout, hubby time, and "peace and quiet in nature" time all at once.
We go to the gym every day together. We do different things usually, but sometimes help each other out. It's good this way because we kind of make each other go!
When we are on vacation without the kids we workout together. I made him try some boot camp moves with me and he pulled his hamstring, so I am having a harder time convincing him to exercise with me
Unfortunately my boyfriend doesn't work out. He climbs up and down the leads of a massive crane at work every day so he doesn't feel the need to do any further exercise...
sometimes....luckily, my husband LOVES yoga, so we pretty much do yoga together every day (love the Rodney Yee DVDs)...we even have a green mat for him and a purple for me:) yes, we are dorks!
My boyfriend is in IN-credible shape, so I kinda refuse to go to the actual gym with him solely for the reason that I am not quite where I want to be yet and not quite to the point where it's okay for him to see me all gross and red and sweaty yet. He's dying for me to go with him and I am running out of excuses, so I'll have to face my insecurity at some point soon. But we do love to go snow shoeing and hiking and other stuff together.
I love him, but that's my time.
My boyfriend and I love to go for hikes or long walks in the city. But he rides his bike everyday, and I don't ride a bike, and I do a lot of yoga and pilates, which doesn't interest him at all. I like that balance.
I agree. The gym is the time of the day when i get to completely tune everything out and focus on me.....i think i would just be too distracted if my bf was there.
I can't work out with people. My work out time is my alone time and I can pace myself however long or short I feel like being at the gym. I would hate to be waiting on someone or have someone waiting on me. Plus I'd really rather not have him see me all disgustingly sweaty because I sweat a hell of a lot.
He motivates me and frustrates me when we are exercising. So I like to workout with, but not all the time.
We cycle and run together on the weekends, if it rains, we'll do spin class together. We go to the gym together (when I feel like getting up at 4:30 am) but then do our own strength training thing. Otherwise, i'm still in bed at 4:30 am and have some alone time at the gym during the day.
My husband and I go to the gym together every morning. Once we're there, we split up and do our own things, but it's nice to have a companion to keep me motivated (and someone else to drive on the snowy, icy roads in Western PA.)
My boyfriend and I always go to the gym together but we don't always work out together when we get there. He does alot of strength training and I try to focus on cardio once I'm there. When I'm am up for strength training, I work with him on some exercises.
my husband inspires me at the gym, he's in such great shape! he helped me lose over 30 lbs a year ago, and continues to support me now that i've become as fit as i was 15 years ago. its nice to see him at the gym every morning, and even better when he trains me on the weekends. i know i am very lucky!
Long distance relationship so ... not so much. But we do sort of guilt trip each other into going because we always tell each other on the phone when we've gone. So if he calls and tells me he just got back from the gym I feel guilty for being lazy and go myself.
I go to the gym with my boyfriend sometimes when I stay at his house. I like getting up early on the weekends and going together and then grabbing a smoothie afterwards, feels good!
It's like pulling teeth to go for a walk. I'm working on it.
Yes, I do always. We keep each other motivated and offer support and advise.
we go together on occasion, but we split up while we're there. my only gripe is that he usually works out for a shorter period of time, so either i have to make him wait around, or cut my workout short.
My boyfriend and I used to run together and I really enjoyed it, then he stopped running! I am trying to get him to exercise again but he is always making up excuses =/
My friendship with my boyfriend actually began when we started running and going to the gym together. We both like to stay active and exercise, especially since we're both so self-conscious of our "jiggles." We keep each other motivated and I think working out is so much more fun when he's around. I miss the days when we used to go to the park and run around the track with our puppy...sadly she's gone now, but we're definitely going to get another one!
The only part that sucks is he's so much more fit than me (he's in the military). He can run for miles and miles and bike for over an hour. Then he lifts. Yeesh. On days when he feels like going all out, I stay home and nap!
We go to the gym together atleast once a week...and by ourselves on other days. Its just hard to get a babysitter for our twins...and i really HATE the daycare at our gym. The people who watch the kids are mean and lazy....if my one of my sons cry a little they run up to the treadmill to fetch me. Its like...arent YOU supposed to watch my kids?? Let him cry for goodness sake!! Plus...even though their kids area looks nice, i know they dont clean it or de-germ it much and that just grosses me out.
My boyfriend doesn't belong to the same gym as I do. But when the weather is nice, we play tennis, go bike riding or walking. I'm in better shape this year so I'm pumped to go running with him this summer!
NO!!!! I WISH, oh how I WISH I could work out with my boyfriend, but alas, he doesn't work out EVER, even with this huge belly hanging! =/ I try to get him to jog at the park when I call him in the morning, but he always has an excuse. He eats like a crazy kid too.
Never! He holds me up so much!
We take walks together sometimes...he also just bought a new bike so we can ride together this summer. And we're also buying an elliptical machine together when our tax returns come in.
My boyfriend and I have went to the gym together in the past, but I would have to say that it didn't quite work out. Going for walks together is fine, but when it comes to the gym he just distracts me. He tries to act like he knows a better workout routine for me, and tells me not to lift such heavy weights (so I don't put on too much muscle). I feel like I am the only one who knows my body, and what excersizes work best for me, so in the end he is just bothering me.
If my hubby didn't go to the gym or bike with me I would never go. He would be the first one to tell you as well !!! We are going to Jamaica in April so that has been motivation as well. He wants to try the yoga class while we are there so I'm excited. We do our own thing in the gym but it's nice to know he's there with me.
i wish i had a boyfriend to work out with lol
maybe i should start hitting the gym more and find myself a hottie there
aaanyway, when i DID have a boyfriend, we would go for walks on the beach in our town or go to the gym together and do seperate things every once in a while...
and no matter what shape i was in, he actually thought it was hot to see me all hot and sweaty, it reminded him of the other times we got hot and sweaty together~
so dont be so self concious ladies!
Nope, I go it alone.
We have pretty different schedules, so my husband and I only get to work out together about once a month.
Well, we might go at the same time but we do our own thing once there.
My husband is the biggest lazy bum ever, so NO, he doesn't work out with me. When we were dating, he told me he LIKED running, so I took him on a 5 mile run with me one day. Halfway through the run, I noticed I was running by myself and I looked back to see him panting and walking about 100 yards behind me. I ran back to him and asked him if he was okay...and he said "I'm DYING! I NEED some water!". So I ran to the nearest gas station and I gave it to him and we ended up walking the rest of the way home. He never wanted to run with me after that, lol.
