All of the above. But the guilt of skipping a workout is worse than the dread or boredom I may feel that day. It definitely takes mental prep to have a good workout.
I agree angel...the hardest part is convincing myself to go. Once I'm working out, I enjoy myself. I just dread the hassle of getting sweaty, needing a shower afterwards, getting ready again.
If it weren't for the stinky sweaty part of working out, I'd probably do it a lot more often.

All of the above really. I mean...I'm not super pumped to hit the gym all of the time, but then knowing how good I'll feel afterwards makes me push through. I think when I'm really busting my
butt to my favorite music and sweating is when I feel the sexiest actually. For me, that's some powerful motivation!

When I go to the gym I feel all sorts of emotions. When I am really tired and I don't feel like working out I drag my rear end anyway and I focus on the endorphin rush I will get from my
cardio and weight training workout. When I finally get started on my cardio workout I pick a motivating playlist from my iPOD and work on, being in the moment.
To be very honest I have only started working out regularly last year to get rid of all the icky-ness of a very bad breakup. At first, I was only trying to exhaust myself so I wouldn't have
any energy left to be sad. After a few weeks, the tighter muscles, the better fitting jeans, and the rush of feeling invincible became very addictive. Now, I work out for my health, both
mental and physical.
Yes, there are times when being lazy beats out the desire for an endorphin rush but I figure this is how life should be; sometimes disciplined and focused and other times lazy and chilling
out. It's all good.
lovin' it lately, and i voted E. have almost lost 10 lbs since jan 1st, and it has gone much easier than i expected. now is just the part where i need to keep focus, stay the course &
enjoy the benefits.
along with eating healthier, i just feel so much better about myself. and if i can just keep toning up, i will be in the best shape of my life, and ready to throw down some push ups (my
goal).

I think all of the above, the more I think about it. It's SO hard to get to the gym is my problem: either a 4:30 wake-up time or a nine block walk to the gym after work (which wouldn't be so
bad if I wasn't stopped at literally EVERY light and if there weren't a ZILLION people around who walk the speed of depressed turtles).
The biggest reason that I dread going to the gym is that I have absolutely no idea what to do when I get there. I'm at a college that allows us to use the state-of-the-art gym for free but I
never really go cause I'm so intimidated by everything, and everyone, there.
I feel like some of you guys in that getting to the gym is the hardest part. After sitting through traffic to even get home, I am too tired and unmotivated to get to the gym. Fit, maybe you
can post something about how to boost up your motivation to go to the gym when you're starting to get lazy. Like, for me, sometimes I will put my hair in a ponytail during the car ride home
because that makes me a little more into going. Anyone else have any tips?
I have my workout clothes out and gym bag ready each nite before I hit the gym. To get in the mood I will listen to music that pumps me up. Sometimes adding a different exercise and changing
up the routine helps. Most importantly, I think positive thoughts. It is way too easy to talk yourself out of going. I remind myself that nobody ever says "Gee, I sure do regret going to the
gym."
My gym is in my house, so I don't have much excuse for not going, lol. For me, the toughest part is just getting started; once I've gotten going, I feel awesome for most of the rest of the
day.

I have a serious paranoia when I go there,because most of the girls and guys I see there are already toned, fit, slim and beautiful and I have a large chest so it makes running a little
annoying.
I also get the feeling that these women are staring at me while I'm on the treadmill, thinking to themselves " look at how fat she is, she can't even run fast, let alone run for a long
time"
this may not be the case..but I just get these Gym fears sometimes, but I do love how I feel afterward.

3I agree with crazy fit - I feel way too antsy if I don't go to the gym. It's like my day isn't really complete!
4I like the gym! Sometimes it's tough to get to because of other commitments, but if I don't then I have a work-out at home I do.
I liek the alone time definatly, but I like how I feel after. I feel like I am done for the night, and relaxed!

11definitely B-but I'm getting a bike this week and a little trampoline so I should be doing more things I enjoy (which means less time at the gym!)
12It takes momentum. Until I'm in shape, I feel dread. But once I get back in the habit, working out makes me feel so good.

17there are some classes like urban rebounding and yoga that I literally cannot wait to get to!! If I have to do my own thing at the gym - eh.
