Being as this week is National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, I wanted to let you know about some great websites that can offer information, support, and help.
SomethingFishy: This is an active website with lots of forums, so it's a great way to get info in a supportive community. It recommends ways you can help a loved one who has an eating disorder, and it also has a comprehensive list of treatment centers so you can find one near you.

National Eating Disorders Association: If you're looking for someone to talk to, you can call its toll-free helpline at 800-931-2237, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific.
EatingDisordersOnline.com: This website is full of recent articles on eating disorders, and gives lots of valuable information on types of eating disorders, nutrition, and recovery. It can help you find treatment near you.
Eating-Disorder-Information.com: This inspirational website created by a recovered anorexic and bulimic provides information on eating disorders and related topics as well as poetry and interactive support.

thank you for this, Fit
1Something Fishy is a great site not only for someone suffering with an ED, but for friends and relatives who want to better understand the disease. The posts by so many people are incredibly honest and insightful, and there are also links for information about different types of EDs, and how to get help.
2I belonged to Something Fishy but really it didnt help me at all with my ED ( i have an EDNOS, eating disorder not otherwise specified) I find Message boards to be a dead end.
3Thank you...
4something fishy is awesome for info!
www.findingbalance.tv is also great- and has a lot of videos on EDs including info on ED-NOS which is hard to find.
if you are looking for support for any ED- including ones that are harder to find support for, www.weightofillusion.com is an ED Support forum with over 130 boards on a variety of Eating Disorder topics and boards for Anorexia Nervosa • Bulimia Nervosa • Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (ED-NOS) • Binge-Eating Disorder • Compulsive Overeating • Orthorexia Nervosa • Purging Disorder • Diabulimia • and other Eating Disorders- some of those EDs are harder to find forums with support for them! It also has a section of several boards for Men with EDs and Parents with EDs.
www.eatingdisorderscoalition.org has current info of Eating Disorders in Politics in the United States as well- if you are curious about this type of thing!
