I love nutritional bars, but sometimes it's hit or miss when trying out new flavors.

That is why it was really cool to learn about You Bars ($40 for 12 bars) — nutritional bars that you can create all the ingredients for. You can choose the base, protein powder, nuts, seeds, dried fruit, berries, sweeteners, chocolate, seasonings, grains, cereals, and vitamin infusions. The bars will be made to your specifications, and you'll get them within 10 to 15 days. You even get to name your creations whatever you want. This means no more guessing what's in it — pretty cool if you ask me. Check it out at YouBars.com.

    Oooh, nice!
I have nut allergies and always have to check labels or stick with fruit bars (kettle valley Laughing out loud) - creating my own bar would be a relief!

My bar only had 4g of fat-I chose nothing for some of the options (like sweetners or seasonings). I only wish I could taste it first. Then again, for 12 bucks that's not bad.

Cool concept...though I wonder if mine would turn out right...kinda like my ambitious Cold Stone creations that don't end up as tasty as planned! Smiling

That's a neat idea! I'm not much of an energy bar person, but if I did like them, I'd want to make my own combo of flavors. I think I'd put some sort of sweetener in mine though...I think otherwise it might be a little bland.

I think this is a cool idea, but the price is a little steep. What if you don't like your bar?? $3.33 seems like a lot if you don't like it. But it's a cool idea, maybe even a cool gift for someone! I bet my dad would love these!

Geeez...it's so expensive! I could see this being appealing for people who have allergies, if they could guarantee that there weren't nuts in them or something.

Adore the idea, not the price. Call me crazy but I'd be happier whipping up a batch of my own energy bars at home, don't have to pay shipping and you have total control of the ingredients and portions. But I do like that you can name them whatever. I'll just make my bars here at home, wrap in saran and write a name with a sharpie... Smiling

Those are so cool, but super expensive. I'll check it out, but I'll probably end up passing.

Whew- $40 for 12 bars? It's a great idea, but there is no way I could ever justify spending that much money. I totally understand why they would have to charge a lot of money to personalize your batch of bars, though.

Yeah, $40 for 12 is sooooo expensive!! I've made my own granola bars at home before and it's not that difficult. You can put in whatever dried fruit you want, honey or molasses or whatever, and they cost something like $.20 each.

Great idea, if only I had 40 dollars to spend on 12 bars!

I wouldn't spend $40 on 12 bars even if I could. That's just silly. Make your own, or eat something else.

There are so many bars out there this seems ridiculous. I think I'll stick with my larabars or trio bars, it is an interesting concept though.
