In college I put ranch dressing on everything; I was also 20 pounds heavier. I have since curbed my ranch addiction but from time to time I still crave it so I was excited to try this recipe for Low-Fat Buttermilk Ranch. It wasn't quite the same, but it did the trick while being way less in calories — regular ranch dressing has about 145 calories per serving, but this recipe only has 30 calories per serving.

Thank God I hate ranch!
1Thank you so much, FitSugar, for posting this recipe! I have to eat a heart healthy diet (due to congenital heart problems), and that requires that I eat a lot of salads, and very low-fat dishes. Your recipe is perfect and much needed. I'm so sick of balsamic vingar-based dressings! I will DEFINITELY try this! Thanks again!
2I kind of do this with Ranch dip. I mix Ranch dressing seasoning mix into plain nonfat yogurt instead of sour cream and it has a LOT less calories.
3Mmm, I love ranch. I'll definitely be trying this out, as I love buttermilk ranches! And I'm getting tired of the low-cal, fat-free stuff that I get from the grocery store. Do you have any suggestions for making it thicker, like a dip for cut veggies?
