OK ladies. Going to the Gynecologist and spreading eagle in a paper dress for a pap smear and breast check can be totally unpleasant. While you're strapped into those stirrups, you've got to love all those personal questions too, like "Do you suffer from vaginal dryness?" and "Are your periods heavy or light?" (sigh) I dread going every year. By far, it's not my favorite way to spend an afternoon.
On the other hand, going to the dentist isn't top on my list either. You get poked, prodded, and drilled with metal instruments while you're forced to keep you mouth wide open for unnatural amounts of time. Don't forget about being stuffed with wads of cotton - that's always fun. My dentist always asks me questions that I can never answer because my mouth is wide open. And how about that anesthesia? You can't eat or drink anything without it ending up dripping down the side of your face. My jaw is always so sore the next day too. Do we really have to go twice a year?
They both are no picnic, each is important for maintaining your health - but which would you rather do?

Jean Paul Gaultier
Lanvin
Missoni
It truly is a tossup as both are unpleasant!
1I hear you on that.
2i like going to the dentist
3I have really bad experiences with the dentist...but I'd still rather go there. At least in a couple days, the pain is fully gone and you've gained something by going there (like no more tootache).
Although, I must say that I switched gyno's for my last appointment because I was sick of the old one's crap (hour wait in main waiting room, half hour in the exam room - telling me he "thinks" it'll be okay - FIRED). This new doc was awesome. She answered every question I had plus some (questions that went a year without being answered by the last one). Aside from the overall "ICK" feeling you get when you leave, I actually felt great leaving there. SO many things I'd been worrying about...answered in twenty minute appointment (my old doc could do it in ten).
4I said the gyno because rarely is that personal invasion followed up by tremendous amounts of money and more appointments.
5I would 100% choose dentist
6I kinda like going to the dentist also.
7I said gyno- it's so much quicker and my gynecologist tries to be as noninvasive as possible. It's more the waiting around in that uncomfortable paper for them to come in and get it over with than anything else. But the dentist is long and drawn out, and the drilling and drooling and yucky tastes- god, it's awful! I would prefer a gyno appointment any day!
8my dentist is a hottttttt hot hot jewish man. mmmm. love him. my gyno is a nice woman but i'm over it. going to the gyno was only exciting the first time it happened.
9I would say gyno. I've spent too much time & money at the dentist and it always lasts much longer than regular gynie checkup!
10haha i would way rather go to the dentist, i would rather have someone prodding around in my mouth than my privates lol
11I picked the gyno. I used to have to go every month for years so, I'm just used to it. I have endometriosis, and that is why I had to go every month. No biggie. It's quick, and the pain level is just discomfort. Basically, he is in the out (no pun intended). The dentist isn't like that..it's everything fitsugar said. lol
12At least when I leave the dentist I feel like smiling.
13Dentist.
14I would have to choose the gynie. One thing I have learned is you want both your dentist and your gynie to have small hands.
15i never really understand why people hate either of these things. i voted for the dentist, though, because you don't have to take off your clothes. and i like going to the dentist, i find it refreshing.
16I would rather go to the gyno everyday for a year than go to the dentist once. Yes, the gyno is uncomfortable, but at least it's not painful. :shivers:
17going to the dentist is not bad at all, i love mine whereas the gyno is sooo incredibly uncomfortable
18I agree with BlondeSugar I would rather go see my gyno on a daily basis than go to the dentist!
A gynecological visit is probably the most painless kind of health-related visit. I mean, honestly, there are no needles or drills or any kind of real pain. That is- if you take good care of yourself and your body, including your girly parts...
19Going to the dentist all the way. It's a much less personal experience for me and I like having beautiful teeth so it's an easy option for me.
