In honor of my girl FabSugar covering everything that is Fashion Week, I wanted to add a little fashion to my site, with a sporty side of course.
Chanel recently launched a city bike that's bound to knock your socks off. This ergonomically designed, eight-speed bicycle could be the most fashionable bike in town. With a fashionable price to boot — this little baby will cost you around $12,000. Yikes.
Let's play pretend for minute. Say you had the money to splurge, would you dare buy this Chanel bike? (And no, it doesn't burn extra calories or anything like that, it's just a regular bike.)

Pineapple
DSquared
DKNY
I'd just be too worried it would get stolen.
1Yea! You would have to have a million locks on it
2I'd never waste money on something like that. I'd rather spend like, $3000 on a really, really great custom bike. Or a Precor elliptical or something like that.
3No labels! If someone were to give it to me I'd take it a spray paint it matte black covering every logo.
4I think it's sick, but I wouldn't throw down 12 grand on a bike.
512 grand is a car, not a bike. No thanks
6No way...
7Yikes 12 grand for a bike. That's like rent for 8 months. A pink Huffy will do just good
8I wish....
9This is just so ridiculous to me. What is the point?
10Such a cute bike!
11meh. it looks pretty blah to me. Now the chanel roller blades, on the other hand, were sooooo cute!!!
Did anybody ever see those again? I saw them a few years ago in a magazine and then never again. . ..
12I think these kinds of designer products are usually actually novelty products - ie not that many are sold, most are given away to people chanel want to have on their side (ie magazines, investors, executive employees).
13if anyone can get me the martin margiela guitar case so i can give it to my boyfriend for valentines that would be amazing!!! heehee
the good thing is that i think this shows that being fit and environmentally friendly really is the new black!
14$12,000???? really?
15I've never owned a city bike over $50 (I buy used) and I went through like 5 of them.
The most expensive bike I've ever SEEN was around $1000, and it sounded a bit more impressive than this one.
Bikes are really easy to steal, so it's not that safe to invest $12,000 in one not knowing how long you'll actually have it.
12,000 gets you a lot of taxis in the city...
16or you could get a cheap car.
he he he he so funny! simply for the fashion savvy! LOL!
i like the crazy idea, though not sure I'll buy it at that price, but still has me thinking!!! Hmm!!!
17it's an adorable bike, i love how old-fashioned (kinda) it looks, however 12 grand is just not how much u pay 4 a bike.
18Designer clothes - understandable. Better material/fabric, better workmanship, it's worth the price (sometimes). Designer bike?? There's no way that it's different from any other bike. The price is solely for the name and *that* is not worth it.
19I live in Chicago and that bike would be stolen in a hearbeat! I like my $60 craigslist bike, thankyouverymuch!
20ew, i hate city bikes
mountain for me please. and this one is not fashionable at
all.
21Not a Huffy but my Felt is okay. That thing would be mocked mercilessly in Boulder (where there are plenty of expensive bikes but strictly for training purposes, lots of teams and things).
22I think it's a VELORBIS ( a bicycle made in Holland which is all the rage...) dressed up in Chanel. I'll take a regular Velorbis, thanks. They usually retail around $1500 and last a lifetime....
23Oh yeah if I was rich and this money wast pocket change. It would definately be a must!!!!
24I love it! Freaked out when I saw it a month ago, and even wrote a blog entry about it!!! All my friends are into fixed gears, and riding $5,000 bikes. I'd show up on the Nelly (my little pet name for her) and rock it!
25Yes definitely! IF I were rich I'd throw on my cutest outfit and take this baby for a ride. It only be brought out for special occasions obviously and I probly wouldn't leave it locked up on the street, but for the occasional super pimpin' time out with my friends I'd definitely do it. Add it to the current collection.
