Knowing the jargon of the gym can really help you feel like you know what you are doing, and that confidence can go a long way. So test your knowledge of gym jargon. Plus there's a bonus question about a race, since sometimes it is good to have a goal (like running a race) to get you to the gym!

i got the triathalon part wrong. Why start with the swim? then the people are wet thru the whole rest of the race! That doesn't make sense to me.

124/5 woooo. i did better than i though i would. i missed the weights question
13the triathlon is started first with the swim for a major safety reason (although not sure the official?). Most people are the worst on the swim. If you are too tired to finish your swim, you could float on your back and what not, but there is no "stopping" like you can do with running or biking. Also, if there is a problem, and you are halfway out in the middle of a pond/lake/or worse, ocean, you have to be rescued all the way out there! So the likelihood of something happening in the water is decreased by putting swimming first.
also, that question about the treadmill was kinda unclear only because you could set it to whatever you wanted to! It didn't say that you wanted to mimic outdoor running.
great quiz fit!

153/5. Fartlek... wha? And that makes sense about swimming first, I guess.
16Any tips on bike training for a triathlon? I'm doing Wildflower and don't want to get wrecked.
17oh and also the hill run there is so extreme that i think i'm definitely going to crater. Any tips on increasing breathing or training tips involving respiration. Anyone else doing or going to Wildflower 2008?
18dcroan do you take spinning classes now? that is what I like to do in the "off" season, and then cram it on the bike as much as I can when the weather gets warmer. actually-not sure where you live or where your tri is...? I haven't heard about that one, but I am in Massachusetts.
I do a lot of breathing work when swimming (breathing every 5, 7, 9 strokes) and I don't run my long runs with my ipod so I can pay attention to my breathing. When it gets warmer I like to bike a loop to a trail, and run hills there. Nice and scenic but definitely a challenge!
